Rough-in through trim-out: moving supply and drain lines, setting tubs, showers, vanities and sinks so the finish work lands clean and the fixtures sit where you want them.
Remodel plumbing happens in two visits separated by everyone else's work. Rough-in is supply and drain lines moved and set while the walls are open. Trim-out is fixtures going on once the finishes are done.
What happens between those two is why rough-in has to be right. Drain lines need correct fall, supply lines need to land where the fixtures are actually going, and all of it gets closed behind tile and drywall.
If you are moving a sink, a tub or a shower rather than replacing in place, that is the part worth getting measured properly before anything is closed up.
Nothing gets cut, dug, or replaced until you've seen the problem and approved the price.
Where fixtures are going, and what has to move to put them there.
Supply and drain lines moved and set while the walls are open, with drains at correct fall.
Tile, drywall and counters go in around the rough-in.
Tubs, showers, vanities and sinks set and connected, then tested.
